This poppy was inspired by one of my followers who requested a design of her favorite flower. As I began researching for this design, I learned that poppies come in many different colors ranging from translucent white to red, like this one, and even lilacs and purples! I also learned that poppies are a symbol of remembrance, made popular in the poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae.
Now you can bring the beauty of a poppy flower into your home by making this double knit potholder. You can make it your favorite color, too! If you’re unfamiliar with double knitting, this small potholder is a great way to learn this knitting technique. Both sides are the same, except with reversed colors. You’ll get the accomplishment of finishing a beautiful project and the confidence of adding a new skill to your knitting basket.
With this instantly downloadable PDF pattern, you’ll have all the help you need to get started!
This pattern includes written instructions, a chart, and links to video tutorials for the invisible cast on, invisible bind off, slip stitch edging, and I-cord loop. You’ll end up with a professional looking finished project that you’ll be proud to give as a gift or keep and put on display.
