Poppy Sweater
Poppy was inspired by the memorial built on Princes Street in Edinburgh by ‘Poppy Scotland’. There is a field of poppies right out in front of the Smith Memorial in which people who have (loved ones who have) served in the Armed Forces of Scotland can place a poppy they bought from the organization.
Poppy Scotland believes that the Armed Forces community in Scotland deserves special support in recognition of the sacrifices made through their service. For more information and donations, visit www.poppyscotland.org.uk.
While I am not Scottish myself, or even British for that matter, I was still touched by this and do recognize the importance of aiding military people into civilian life, if need be.
The memorial on Princes inspired me and thus this pattern came to be.
This pattern is for your use only, it’s not allowed to sell it on to third party for profit. You can sell finished sweater at a reasonable price, provided you mention me as the designer.
