Porcelina socks are inspired by the hand-knitted socks by our grannies when we were little. Entertaining but straightforward socks are reminiscent of bread and butter and sugar afternoons while our first bike rides. With them, you will learn how to knit toe-up socks with increases in the wedge of the toe, the Turkish cast-on, and the after-though heel of short turns.

Notes on construction
This pattern is written for the Magic Loop technique using circular needles. If you want to use double-pointed needles, the circular Ndl 1 corresponds to the Ndl 1 and 2 of the double-pointed needles and the Ndl 2 to the Ndl3 and Ndl4. In this pattern, you will learn to knit socks from the toe up with a lace motif in the upper part of the foot. Once you reach the heel (afterthought), leave the stitches of the heel on hold. From here, the motif is worked all around the leg. Finally, you work the heel with decreases and a grafting ending.

Gauge
27 sts x 40 Rnds = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in St st knit IN THE ROUND, after blocking.

Techniques
Turkish cast-on.
Twisted Ribbing with twisted knits (knit 1 stitch through the back loop, purl 1 stitch).
Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off.

Acerca de la construcción
Este patrón está escrito para la técnica de Magic Loop utilizando agujas circulares. Si quieres usar agujas de doble punta la Ag 1 circular corresponde a las Ag 1 y 2 de las agujas de doble punta y la Ag 2 a las Ag3 y Ag4. Los calcetines se tejen desde la puntera a la caña tejiendo el motivo sólo en el empeine, al alcanzar la altura del talón (after-thought) los puntos del talón se dejan en espera. A partir de aquí el motivo se teje por toda la caña y el talón se teje al final devolviendo los puntos en espera a las agujas. y en la caña.

HILO
Recuerda que estas cantidades son aproximadas. El uso total de hilo dependerá del hilo que utilices (contenido de fibra, torsión, etc.), tu tensión personal y cualquier modificación que hagas.
