Inspired by one of my favorite stops along the Seward Highway in Alaska, the Portage Glacier is a lightweight but oversized rectangular wrap, perfect for wearing outdoors in the spring and fall or anytime you need a simple but beautiful extra layer. It’s knit in sport weight yarn and features an overall textured pattern with a block of lace edging down the length of one side.

This pattern is ideal for experienced knitters as well as those who are new to lace. The repeat is easy to memorize and creates an understated and elegant look with contrasting visual interest between textures.
