These delightful penguins are simple to knit and have removeable accessories for added cuteness and play value.

They are knit flat on two needles. The pattern suggests double knit /light worsted/8 ply yarn, but you could easily use worsted weight/aran instead.
Knit in double knit, adult penguins will be approx 5 1/2” (14cm) tall and baby 3 1/2” (9cm) tall. If using worsted, they will be slightly taller.

The 9 page pattern has clear instructions and lots of colour photos of all the stages, including sewing up and finishing.
You need to be able to cast on, cast off, knit, purl, increase and decrease.
The pattern uses oddments of yarn (maximum 20g black for an adult penguin) and involves very simple colour work. There are instructions and photos of this if you haven’t done it before.
