Portrait Pillow Graphghans
Pattern for portrait pillows made with graphghan tops.
The pattern shows how to construct a pillow top graphghan from a photo of your choice. It shows how to digitize a photo to a graphghan chart for the front of the pillow using a free, on-line tool. Then, it provides directions for crocheting the pillow front and overlapping back panels.
The finished pillows are 24 x 24 inches. A 28 inch pre-made pillow insert is used to stuff the pillow. The back is open with overlapping panels to make the insertion of the pillow form easy.
All acrylic yarns are used in worsted/medium/4 weight. The exact yarns used depends upon the pattern created from the digitized photo, but may include Red Heart Super Saver, Bernat Super Value, Lion Pound of Love and/or Premier Basix.
All directions and digitizing of the photo are freely available. The digitization is done with the Grid Designer. Grid Designer is a free, on-line tool that runs in your browser and can make charts from photos.
