Besides yarn, this pattern requires different sizes of crafting wires. I used most of 5 skeins of the main color and a few yards of black for nose, eyes and ear strips. A very small bit of red was used. Toenails required a small amount of white. I had some main color left over and some waste. So if careful the yardage might be more conservative. Wires are optional if a soft play toy is desired, but the fox will not pose or stand without them. Gauge with the H hook was 3.5 stitches per inch, however, a smaller hook will produce a smaller fox. Some alterations to other parts of the pattern may be needed if aiming for smaller fox. When finished as written, fox will stand approximately 17 inches high at the shoulders, and be 24 inches long between forehead and rump. Tails are pose-able so total length varies by amount of bends in tails. Images are included to aid in crocheting this fox and assembling it, with wires.
