Poseable Raccoon
This Adobe Pdf file is my original design crochet pattern for a pose able standing or lying down raccoon. The written pattern is illustrated with photos showing every step in the construction of the raccoon.
The pattern is crocheted in a continuous spiral and requires knowledge of the following stitches (including increases and decreases): chain, slip stitch, and single crochet.
Item size will depend on the weight of yarn used. I crocheted my sample with Loops and Threads Impeccable worsted weight acrylic yarn and size F crochet hook. Sample size is about 4” tall, about 12” long including the tail, and 5 1/2” wide between the two front feet. The pattern was designed with a teddy bear disk type joint between the head and body and thread jointing of all four legs, so she is quite pose able.
Dark Gray: Approximately 4-5 ounces
White or Light Gray: Approximately 1- 2 ounces
Black: Approximately 1-2 ounces
Other Supplies: Two 9mm black plastic safety eyes, polyester fiberfill stuffing, unwaxed dental floss, and one teddy bear joint disc set (one cotter pin, three 9mm metal washers, and two 25 mm millboard disks). Teddy bear joint disc sets can be purchased from www.glasseyesonline.com. You will need one extra metal washer which can be purchased at a hardware or home improvement store. If you are making this toy for a young child, substitute embroidery for eyes.
