„Positive Thoughts” combines the looks of a traditional grandfather cardigan with today’s advanced methods of seamless knitting for a classical garment with modern fit, minus the hassle and discomfort of the bulky seams normally associated with heavier yarn weights!

This cardigan is worked top down with set-in sleeves, starting at the back, followed by both fronts and parts joined after the armholes, with button bands featuring a one-row buttonhole.

The cable pattern reminiscent of wheat sheaves is fully charted for individual sizes. With a small amount of positive ease already incorporated in the pattern, it’s comfy and literally predestined to become your next favorite Christmas sweater, especially when worked in Green!

Materials:

• Dream in Color Canyon – (100% Wool): 100g/ 175 yards (160 meters) – 6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins or approx. 900 (950, 1000, 1080, 1160, 1250, 1340, 1440, 1540) yards 830 (870, 920, 990, 1060, 1140, 1230, 1320, 1410) meters of aran weight yarn that knits up to gauge. The sample is knit in colorway “Rabbit Ears”.
• US 8 – 5 mm 24” (60 cm) & 40” (100 cm) circular needles or DPNs
• US 10 – 6 mm 24” (60 cm) & 40” (100 cm) circular needles or DPNs
• 4 stitch markers in one color (A)
• 2 stitch markers in a second color (B)
• cable needle
• crochet hook for provisional cast-on
• 1 ¾“ (30 mm) buttons – 5 pieces
• stitch holder or scrap yarn
