The “POSTAGE STAMP” Socks
Flipping through a book of stitch patterns for inspiration, I spied one that reminded me of little postage stamps. My brother works for the U.S. Postal Service so I designed these socks to keep his feet warm while he delivers the mail.
THE BASICS
• Pattern includes 3 sizes: Women’s’ small - Women’s medium - Women’s large/Men’s
• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms
• Instructions are for knitting in the round on double pointed needles
• Knit from the toe up using a standard gusset and heel flap
• Gauge: 34 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)
• Knitting skill level - INTERMEDIATE

• Knitting in the round
• Basic increases and decreases
• Basic sock construction
• Working short rows
• Working slip stitches
SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED
• Approx. 278 (345, 410) yds / 254 (315, 375) m sock weight yarn in MAIN COLOR
• Approx. 40 (50, 60) yds / 37 (46, 55) m sock weight yarn in CONTRAST COLOR
• Set of U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm) set of double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Set of U.S. size 0 (2.0 mm) set of double pointed needles or one size smaller than gauge needle
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle
• Stitch holder
