Postcard from the Edge
Join me for the 5th annual Spring String Mystery Knitalong: Postcard from the Edge! We’re knitting a gorgeous three-color shawl with an edge worth writing home about.
Clues arrive weekly through the month of April - beginning April 1st.
Here’s what we’re knitting this year: Large triangle shawl (approximately 60 in/152.5 cm wide, wingtip to wingtip, blocked) in three colors
Note: The design includes lace, texture, and color details, but there is NO stranded colorwork.
Skill Level:
Intermediate (or adventurous beginner)
Yarn:
Three skeins of fingering weight yarn, one each of three colors. You’ll only need about 400 yards of each color.
Main Color: Solid or Tonal Color, medium shade - I am using Little Squirrel Yarn | Fingering Weight | Pecan Single-Ply | Color: Pink Grapefruit | 437 yards/399 meters in 100 grams)
Secondary Color: Variegated, Speckled, Tweed, Sparkles (anything fun), preferably lighter shade than your main color (but not required) - I am using Little Squirrel Yarn | Fingering Weight | Oak Sock | Color: Sunshine on My Mind | 437 yards/399 meters in 100 grams)
Accent Color: Neutral Solid or Tonal - this one should be either the lightest or darkest of the three colors - I am using White Gum Wool | Fingering Weight | Ethical Superfine Merino | Color: Natural | 516 yards/472 meters in 100 grams (You will not need all of the yardage on this one - this is just what I’m using from stash.)
