The Bong and Leaf scarflette is a very basic graphed scarflette. It can be modified to a full on scarf by repeated the graph pattern. You will use 3 colors of yarn. Any three really will work as long as they contrast from each other. I find a dark MC works with lighter CCA and CCB, and vice versa.

This scarflette can be worked in sc, hdc or dc, depending on what you want to make and how much time you have to finish it. I use a J hook, but this design can be adapted to various hook sizes. A DC version of the scarflette can be done in an afternoon if you have the yarn and buttons on hand.

Finishing the work is easy enough, as a border is totally optional, as are buttons. If you don’t have buttons handy, simply seam the ends of the scarflette together and pull it off and on over your head. If you are looking for a long scarf, simply make the graph twice, and create a scarf middle using the stitches of your choice. You can also opt to repeat the graph over and over, making a longer bong and leaf scarf.

This is a great stash busting patterns. You can make wall hangings, scarflettes, fingerless gloves, and hats using the graph. I love making images using my graph paper and simple pixelated designs.
