Hook:
I-J-K (you want something tight, but still workable, I used an I hook)
Yarn:
Cotton, Main Color (MC)- BACKGROUND and Contrast Color (CC)- POT LEAF
You will hold two strands together to get a nice thick fabric
Use 2-3 colors. The border can be the main or contrast color if you do not have a third color.
This pattern example used Premier Yarns in Cotton.

Use your favorite method of color-work. I hold the CC while working MC color stitches, and crochet around it, and vice versa. If you have a different color-work method, feel free to use it.

Graph is included in the pattern, you can rework it for knit as well using size 10 or 11 knitting needles.

I used three colors, feel free to use more or less colors.

As with crochet pot holders, this is mostly for looks, however, you can put warm mugs, or cooled pans on these. If you use acrylic, please know that your more likely to melt the yarn.
