I designed this pattern originally to hold flower broaches I knitted as Christmas gifts, then i realized they would make lovely pot-pourri holders. I also have put small perfume bottles or chocolates in them as gifts.

Its a simple pattern using mainly chain stitch.

I have made a few different pot-pourri holders using different thicknesses of crochet thread from size No.20 (Anchor Aida Crochet Cotton tkt No.20 NAVY 8150), to size no. 10 (Anchor Aida Crochet Cotton tkt No.10 Silver/Grey 8397), no. 8 (Anchor Freccia Crochet Cotton tkt No.8 BEIGE 387) no.8 (Rico design essentials crochet glitz red) and up to 4ply (fingering).

Instructions are given for making larger or smaller diameters, and for all crochet thread sizes named above.

Gauge: for the No. 8 (Anchor Freccia Crochet Cotton tkt No.8 BEIGE 387) the gauge was 40 chain sts makes 6”/ 15cm. In the elasticated thread 53 chain sts makes 6”/ 15cm. Yardage for the elasticated thread is 85”/222cm.

Happy crocheting!
