Potawatomi is knit flat in one piece from ribbed end to ribbed end with a shaped neckline. The ribbed cowl is picked up and knitted. A single seam runs up one side from ribbing to neckline.

In the original version, thanks to the fringed edging, every row is worked as a right side row, making the stockinette portion purl free! Pattern Info:

Finished size: After seaming, fabric forms a folded rectangle 24” by 27” which includes a 3” knotted fringe. Cowl / collar measures 24” around (buttoned) and 6-1⁄2” deep. Size can be easily modified; guidance for mods on page 2.

Needles & notions: Size 8 US / 5 mm needles circular needles (with a cable long enough to hold 122 sts), cable or double- pointed needle, tapestry needle, four 7/8” buttons.

Techniques used: Cables, reading charts optional, pick up and knit.
