Potholders Creepy Skull Kitchen Decor
This morbid but friendly skull is not afraid of hot dishes and will help you protect your hands from the heat.
This PDF crochet pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet a set of skull potholders as shown in pictures, made using sport weight cotton yarn and crochet hook size C (2.5 mm).
Schachenmayr/SMC Catania was used to create the potholders in the pictures. Finished size will be approx. 6.7” x 6.7” (17 x 17 cm) including the edges.
These handy potholders with a creepy but friendly skull depicted to their front sides, are made in 2 separate panels, worked in flat rows using tapestry technique, then joined together and finished with a pretty contrasting colored edging all around, including a hanging loop.
The potholders are double layered, making them sturdy and thick enough to hold all hot dishes.
Skill level: intermediate crochet.
Approx. Gauge: 10 sts x 10 rows: 1.57” x 1.57” (4 x 4 cm)
Stitches and techniques used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, tapestry technique, blocking (optional), surface slst crochet (optional)
Full color charts and written instructions are both included.
