This playful shawl plays with garter stitch stripes in an effective, yet simple way. Pothos experiments with two row striped garter, on what would traditionally be the reverse side of the fabric (which I think looks just as beautiful as the front) creating a unique striping effect, with just a few purl stitches.

The edge is finished with a touch of lace detail, balanced by a picot chain cast off.

Pothos is knitted from the centre out, so it is easy to increase or decrease the size by either adding or omitting repeats of the main body – please bear in mind that doing so will alter your yarn requirements.

Note: I have used two different bases for a fun textural difference, but Pothos would also work well in two shades of the same yarn.

17 sts x 38 rows = 10 cm / 4 inch square measured over Garter Stitch

Always use a needle size that results in the correct gauge after blocking
