This fitted cardigan is knit to size from only one measurement across the back. Its modular construction looks equally good in solid as in variegated colors, but also invites a play with gradients or color blocks. The mitered squares are attached as you go (Sock blanket knitters already know how to do this!), and there’s only one seam (wrist to waist) on each side for structure.

The open front lets your favorite shirt or dress shine, while the ample bell sleeves keep you cozy in shivery fall weather.

Make it in any yarn, any weight to fit nearly any size. (The construction does not work for arm length that is less than cross-back width at under-arm.)
