Powder Wrap
Please sign up for my newsletter here and as always if you put three patterns into your cart the fourth is free.
The Powder Wrap was designed in Julie Asselin Nurtured in Naturel. It took approximately 840 yards (so the 900 is to be safe since it varies from yarn to yarn.) If you wish to do it in fingering weight yarn, it will require approximately 620 yards (so way less than one cone!) Julie Asselin Nurtured may be acquired here. You will want to use between a US 4-US 6 for the fingering weight version, depending on the fabric that you like. (22 sts.4” is the goal.)
A budget friendly alternative is Berroco Ultra Alpaca or Berroco Vintage. You do not need a drapey yarn for this but if you want one, it will also work well. It’s a very flexible design and I could have knit it on a larger needle for a drapier fabric.
There are worsted Colorblocked/fade directions in the pattern for those who wish to use a kit or stash for this. You may buy kits for it here. Yarn amounts:Color A - 69g, Color B - 81g, Color C - 63g, Color D -79g, Color E - 62g
This is an asymmetric triangle that is a large, mesmerizing wrap to knit. The three sections repeat throughout until the last part where you do some increases and work cables. There are video links for doing the cables without a cable needle and also a beginner’s alternative in case you don’t wish to cable at all.
Sharon From Security did help a small bit in the design of this wrap but is overstating her involvement so please consider this.
From Sharon: Please consider joining The Sharon Show if you wish to knit along and look at fun animal pictures (but answer the questions or you cannot join cos I’m strict and also no asshats are allowed and you have to agree that I’m the Boss of the World.)
Final Measurements
Worsted/Aran weight: 90”/229cm at neck edge X 20”/50cm deep.
Fingering weight: 73”/185cm at neck edge X 17”/43cm deep.
Correction - the pattern says 4 repeats of section 3 but it should be 3. It should be obvious, though, since there are no st counts for a fourth repeat.
Video link to do 2/2RC and 2/2 LC without a cable needle (my favorite ways.)
