Power 10 Rowing Socks
This sock features rowing shells (quads) on the instep, followed by a ‘wake’ cable pattern. There are oars along either side of the foot, with hatchet blades extending into the heel gusset. A ripple cable pattern that flows along the back of the leg extending into the heel flap, and there are two more boats on the front of the leg, finishing with a wavy picot
bind-off.
The pattern is written to be knitted toe-up on two circular needles, and instructions are given for 60 and 64-st socks. With two cable patterns going at once, it it probably best suited for sock knitters with some experience.
You can easily adapt this pattern for DPNs or Magic Loop, if you prefer. Also, if you want to make the foot or leg longer, you can add or subtract pairs of oars in the boats: rowing shells can have 1, 2, 4 or 8 pairs of oars. Or stagger the oars to make sweep boats instead of sculls.
