Copied from pattern intro from Kate Atherley:

“Handknit gloves are so much warmer than any-thing you can buy in the store. And if you spin the fiber for extra warmth – add a bit of mohair or silk in with your wool – they’re even better.

“I’ll be honest: a glove project is a bit of a commit-ment. There’s less knitting, they are small projects, but they do require a little more attention to detail than the average pattern, a little bit more than the usual manual dexterity, and some extra patience weaving in the ends. But all that is absolutely worth it for a one-of-a-kind project you’ll wear all winter.

“Although I’ve got some clever tricks at the base of the fingers and thumbs, you are absolutely 100% guaranteed to have at least little gaps there. But you’ve got ends to weave in at those points, so you can use them for good!

“These gloves are designed to be utterly modern: a not-at-all-old-fashioned design featuring conductive thread in the index finger and thumb so you can work your devices without risking frostbite.

“In the sample, I’ve electrified the thumb and index finger of both hands, but for your own gloves, you may only want to work this on your dominant hand. It’s entirely dependent on how you operate your devices.”
