Powerline Cowl
Inspired by rows of power lines through the woods, when you are not quite “off the grid” - but getting close.
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit, purl, and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”, and since the simple geometric shapes are easy to remember, this pattern is perfect to work on with distractions or while you’re on-the-go.
Yarn:
Superfine or Fine weight (1-2) yarn in two colours; approximately 230 yards of each colour. Sample shown in Knit Picks Capretta in Celestial and Tumeric.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required. Two 230 yard skeins of each colour will yield two cowls (with reversed colours) as written; or one skein of each colour will yield one slightly smaller cowl.
Needles: 3.75mm (US size 5) circular needles (26.5 inches/67.5cm long)
Finished Dimensions of sample: 11.25”/28cm high by 14.5”/37cm wide lying flat; approximately 31”/79cm circumference.
