Welcome to the Boo-Knits Halloween MKAL 2023!

According to Alice Hoffman, ‘There’s a little witch in all of us.’

Each year the town of Coupeville, where the film Practical Magic was filmed, celebrates Halloween. 2023 is no exception but it is a little more special as the town is celebrating 25 years since the film was released. This shawl is a little nod to the film and town; and we hope their celebrations, especially this year, are spooktacular!

Practical Magic is a magical, top down, crescent shaped shawl but to tell you more than that would spoil the mystery. I can tell you that it would be enchanting for a wedding, spellbinding for a special occasion, bewitching for a date night and practically perfect for daily wear too! Add a little magic to your wardrobe!

Practical Magic will be released in five clues in October
Clue One will be released on the 1st,
Clue Two on the 5th,
Clue Three on the 8th,
Clue Four on the 11th and
Clue Five on the 12th

Each new clue will be released at around 10am UK time and will be added to the previous clue(s) so you have an up-to-date pattern. You might like to check each update as you may not want to print out the entire pattern on each clue release. As always, we respectfully ask you to keep the first photograph on your project page as the placeholder, that can be copied from this pattern page, so as not to spoil the enjoyment of the mystery for other knitters. An updated and complete pattern will be sent to all purchasers after the MKAL has finished.

Please be aware that on purchasing this pattern prior, to 1st October, you will only receive the PreRelease Information Sheet). The actual pattern will be released in five clues, starting 1st October.

You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern.

The pattern is both fully written and charted throughout.
