Practice Wave
This pattern can be used for interlocking or mosaic crochet.
INTERLOCKING: Crochet-A-Long with me on YouTube here and practice the Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) technique and also get used to reading my patterns.
LFM uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh which is interwoven as you go. Two colors are worked in alternate rows to create the pattern.
Important Details
• Pattern is in US crochet terminology
• Chart is 21 x 21
• Finished square measures approximately 5”
• 4.5 mm hook (US7)
• Worsted weight yarn (40 yards total)
o Main color (MC) – 17 yards plus 6 for optional border
o Accent color (AC) – 17 yards
• Gauge: 4 DC x 2 rows = 1”
MOSAIC CROCHET: Using this chart, learn how to read a mosaic crochet pattern without X’s on it! Follow along with the YouTube tutorial here.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).
