This is a snug, neckwarmer style cowl. It isn’t so tight as to be uncomfortable though, and you could add more repeats to make it even looser.

There are 2 types of lace in this cowl, separated by an eyelet row. The beginning and end rows are ribbing.

The name comes from the Prairie Fire flower, also known as Indian Paintbrush or Painted Cup or Grandmother’s Hair. The Prairie Fire flower is found throughout Alberta - in the mountains and on the prairie.

To knit this, you’ll need to know knit, YO, K2tog, CDD and SSK.
