Prairie Whimsy
This shawl brings to mind everything I LOVE about living in the country. One of the lines from the description on the pattern page goes:
I love to just walk through wildflowers & long grasses, especially on a light windy day, watching as they dance with whimsy as each breeze softly passes through them.
We live on 60 acres in Northern WI. Off gravel roads where our nearest neighbor is almost a mile away. It is an amazing & beautiful place to join with nature.
As you knit this project you will get to see paths of daisies, deer trails & watch those grasses dancing with whimsy. They are all in it. You can choose to alter the yarns and even to make it wide enough for a baby blanket, wider if you would like. I am currently working on a cowl, going through the center panel just one time. For the shawl shown, I did 4 repeats of the center panel. I used just one skein of yarn. No need to gauge, it is so light & lacy, it will block beautifully for you.
If you choose to do a different yarn, you will need to allow for more yardage & a larger needle; but the pattern adapts beautifully. I will add my notes for the cowl when I complete it & for the blanket.
