About:
Inspired by big sky and sprawling meadows, the Prairie Winds Sweater is knit entirely in the round, from the top down. While the pattern was designed to have short sleeves, instructions are included to knit with longer sleeves as well. The pattern is knit in two colours.
Yarn Used:
Sirdar Snuggly, DK Weight Yarn
55% Nylon, 45% Acrylic, 179 yds (165 m) per 50g ball
Colours: Tawny (MC), Oatmeal (CC )
Gauge:
22 sts and 30 rounds to a 4 inch/ 10 cm square, in the round, blocked
- One-colour stockinette suggestion: US 6 (4 mm) needles.
- Colour-work pattern suggestion: US 7 (4.5 mm) needles.
Sizing:
The Prairie Winds Sweater comes in 9 sizes. Although it was designed to be loose-fitting, with around 6 inches (15 cm) of positive ease, you can choose a garment size with more or less ease, for a different fit.
Size A - Chest circumference: 34 inches (86.5 cm)
Size B - Chest circumference: 38 inches (96.5 cm)
Size C - Chest circumference: 42 inches (106.5 cm)
Size D - Chest circumference: 46 inches (117 cm)
Size E - Chest circumference: 50 inches (127 cm)
Size F - Chest circumference: 54 inches (137 cm)
Size G - Chest circumference: 58 inches (147.5 cm)

- US 6 (4 mm) circular needles, length 32 inch (81.5 cm) or longer - for body and sleeves
- US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles, length 32 inch (81.5 cm) or longer - for colour-work yoke
- US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, length 18 inch (45.5 cm) or longer - for ribbing

Uses DK-weight yarn (tester’s choice). The yardage for the MC is provided for both the standard short sleeve and long sleeve (LS) option. Both options use the same amount of CC
