Fall is coming quickly and the winds will be cool. What better way to keep your little chap warm and happy than to dress him in this adorable Precious Puppy Baby Set and give him the Precious Puppy toy to keep him occupied?
This set was originally knit in Patons Look At Me - a DK yarn that I adore and had a quantity in my stash - but as it is discontinued there are several other DK yarns listed on the pattern that are just as suitable for this design. The test knitters used Mary Maxim Baby Sweet Cakes and Patons Beehive Baby Sport in their testing and it is evident that any dk yarn will work nicely.
To work the entire set with the bonus puppy you will need almost 8 50g balls of yarn in the main colour (Mid Blue in this case) and one of the two co-ordinating colours (yellow and brown) A bit of bright red is also needed for the facial features on the intarsia sections.
The stitch design is an easy knit/purl design and is Easy and yet an elegant and delightful design. If you can knit, purl, do kfb increases. do intarsia from a written chart, and follow basic instructions you will find this an easy pattern.
So get your needles working and you will have this darling set in time for the holiday season. Included are a raglan sleeved cardigan, leggings, a toque that has a puppy face in intarsia, a set of novelty shoes that have puppy faces on the front AND a bonus pattern of a toy puppy. For this reason the pdf is 15 pgs long and the puppy patten is 9 pgs.
