When moms are separated from their babies in the hospital, bonding squares are a great way for them to be together even if they can’t physically be near each other. This crochet preemie bonding square pattern gives moms and babies something to snuggle with when they can’t physically be together.
Make them in pairs - one for the mom and one for baby. Use all of that scrap yarn you’ve been holding onto and donate to your local NICU or new mom.
They’re fast to make, which is great when you’re looking for a break from longer projects like prayer shawls or blankets.
This pattern is also available for free on my blog. The premium PDF also includes written instructions for both matching preemie- and newborn-size blankets.
These bonding squares use mainly half double crochet stitches in the front and back loops to create a beautiful texture.
