Preemie Sweetpea Cardigan
After my Mum introduced me to the Warm Baby Project charity on Facebook, I wanted to help by making some short-sleeved cardigans similar to my Sweetpea Cardigan design.
Most charities like this prefer acrylic yarn (for easy care) in a double knit weight (seems to be the more popular weight), and so the Preemie Sweetpea Cardigan was created.
This is a quick and simple design that looks good in any colour. One piece. No seams. Finished in a day or less.
The Sweetpea Cardigan is named after my father’s nickname for me when I was little. Starting with the collar at the top, increases are added to make the shoulders and short sleeves. The sleeves are then cast off and the front and back sections joined together all the way to the hem at the very end.
