Notes:
This would be considered an intermediate skill level pattern. It is made entirely by single crochet, but you must have a clear understanding of single crochet increase/decrease. This is a lengthy pattern, so I have included a notes section before each new task. Happy Hooking!
Materials:
You will need yarn, 4.00 mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, stitch markers, scissors, 24.00 mm safety eyes, and poly-fill for stuffing! Optionally you will need white felt for the teeth!
Let’s talk about yarn!
You will need #4 weight yarn for this pattern. I used Sundance Sweets in the color lollipop for this project. You will also need Red Heart Super Saver in the color black. Feel free to use any brand or color you wish!
Other important Information!
You will need floral wire for this project. You need this to give the octopus’s tentacles their shape. I will provide detailed info in the pattern on how to achieve this. If you use floral wire for this project, then please do not gift this project to a child.
Gauge:
Gauge is not extremely important for this pattern. You just want your stitches to be tight enough that poly-fill won’t poke out!
Abbreviations:
-Ch: chain
-Sl st: slip stitch
-Sc: single crochet
-Inc: increase
-Dec: decrease
