Present Symmetry Cowl
Present Symmetry Cowl is a quick and easy knitting project perfect for a last-minute gift for someone, including yourself. It’s based on the Present pattern by Mademoiselle C but is a modified version where the design is symmetrical.
It’s one size for adults and is a very flexible pattern that can easily be changed up by casting on more or less stitches, adding or subtracting main repeat rows, using smaller or larger needles, varying yarn weights, and knitting with two or more different yarns.
Experiment and have fun. The sky’s the limit. I can’t wait to see what you make!
My example for this pattern was knit with Honey Girl Farms Pure Aran (100% superwash merino) yarn using one 181 yard (100g / 166m) skein. Each time I’ve made one I’ve had a little yarn left (a few yards or more).
Needles used are size is US 8 (5mm) circular to knit in the round. I used an overall length of 24” (60cm). Mine are Chiaogoo Red Lace interchangeable 5” needles with a 14” cable.
You’ll need a stitch marker and a yarn needle.
Stitches used are basic knit and purl.
When I dry it flat I lay it out at around 8” high by 13” wide. It’s flexible and forgiving, so adjust it how you want it.
Enjoy this free pattern. I look forward to seeing your creations!
