Pressed Tin Ceilings
These socks are inspired by my memory of growing up in a farm house which had a pressed tin ceiling. While quite simple in their design, to my young eyes, these ceilings were ornate, beautiful and intriguing.
The design also has a festive bauble feel about them, ideal for seasonal knits as gifts or to keep for yourself.
I wanted a design that would allow the gorgeous main colour yarn that I had to showcase – to shine and to be seen – this design provides that perfectly.
These toe up socks are worked with a heel flap and gusset.
The instructions for the construction of the socks are written and the colour work pattern is charted.
Thank you to Condichick and the other testers.
A huge thanks also to Condichick, yarnymama and SNSSO for their ongoing valued advice, guidance, feedback and encouragement.
Erratum
Heel Flap – the instruction immediately below Row 6 in the heel flap have incorrect stitch counts and should read: Repeat rows 3-6 until there are 34 (36, 38) sts on needle 2.
