Pretty Fringe

This pattern is available for free.

This pattern was published in January 1890. It is for ornamenting small fancy articles.

The size of the cotton employed must depend upon the article to be trimmed. No. 18 is suitable for d’oyleys, toilet covers, brush and comb bags, and other small things. No. 14 is generally employed for quilts; of course the size of the needle depends upon the cotton, but in either case they should not be chosen too coarse. It improves the fringe to knit with several threads of cotton arranged together. Four or five balls should be first wound and then be re-wound all together on one ball.
