Pretty in Plaid Sweater
The Pretty in Plaid sweater is a bottom-up knit, using two-strand colourwork throughout, and DK weight yarn (the pictures are size XL using Double Sunday Sandnes Garn). It features a plaid pattern, winged sleeves and a boat neckline, thus flattering for many body types, especially the bustier of us :)
It is knitted in the round until the sleeve openings, followed by flat knitting and purling for the front and back up to the neck openings. The shoulders are sewed together, and the sleeve stitches are picked up and knitted in the round.
The sizing is accomplished by altering the width and height of the plaid diamonds, with the XS using diamonds that are 17 stitches wide, up to the XXL, that are 33 stitches wide.
Using Double Sunday, 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) skeins of the main colour were used and 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) of the contrasting colour.
Bust is 94 cm (117, 140, 162,185) or 37” (46, 55, 64, 73). NOTE: Due to the winged sleeves, the bust has a huge amount of ease.
The most fitted part of the sweater is at the ribbed hem, which has the circumference of 64 cm (79, 94, 109, 124) or 25” (31, 37, 43, 49).
