Pretty Lace Sampler
The Pretty Lace Sampler was designed for a Novice lace class - to give them more than just YarnOvers and Knit 2 togethers for making the lace. It is for learning how stitch manipulation can give you beautiful designs, and for learning about finding a stitch pattern and adapting it to a purpose.
The sample was knit with Juniper Moon Farm Findley and an unidentified lace weight yarn from my stash. You can use either a laceweight yarn of a fingering weight yarn.
The patterns used include:
Knitting Encyclopedia 1500 Patterns (1984) by Mon Tricot
Imitation Embroidery V
Plain and Lacy Stripes II
A Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker
Vertical Lace
Drooping Elm Leaves
My Knitting Book by Frances Lambert
Fishbone
German Lace (a.k.a. Grapevine lace)
A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker
Spider Lace
The wrap can be customized to make longer or wider by increasing the number of pattern repeats or stitch repeats. Be sure that you have enough yarn…
