Pretty Patchwork Baby Blanket
This baby blanket is a great way to use up odds and ends of yarn and at the same time practice modular knitting as you will be knitting one square at a time and then picking up stitches for the next square. It really is a unique heirloom, as no one will be exactly the same, depending on which yarn and colour is used. The pattern does however contain a colour chart if you intend to work it in same colours.
Skill Level
Intermediate, although achievable by an adventurous beginner.
Materials
2 50g balls of DK yarn (for the cream ribbed border)
2 50g balls of Dk yarn (for the turquoise border)
7 50g balls of DK yarn in different colours (for the squares)
4mm knitting needles (I recommend using circular needles due to weight of blanket
tapestry needle for sewing in loose ends
Size
Approx 62 by 78cm when blocked
The blanket is a perfect size for taking out in the stroller/pushchair and also useful as a playmat when out and about.
The pattern is written and lots of tips are given to help you make the blanket truly unique and special.
