Pretty Poncho
When designing this poncho for a doll, I tried to keep in mind that it needed to be easy for a little girl’s fingers to manipulate. So, I created a wide turtleneck that could easily slip over the doll’s head. The buttons are pushed through the knitted fabric instead of using buttonholes. Again, this was done to make it easier for little girls trying to fasten the poncho on their dolls.
The poncho is knit in two pieces from the bottom up. The pieces are later seamed together with a three needle bind off to create a smooth shoulder edge. Stitches at the neckline are picked up to create the ribbed turtleneck.
