Pretzel socks
Pretzel socks combine stockinette stitch with simple cables to give an elegant pattern of delicate twists down the ankle and top of foot with a stockinette sole. The pattern includes instructions for three sizes:
S – EU36-38 / UK3-5 – approx. foot length = 22cm / 8.5”
M – EU38-41 / UK 5-7 – approx. foot length = 24cm / 9.5”
L – EU41-43 / UK 7-9 – approx. foot length = 27cm /10.5”
Ankle and foot length can be adjusted by performing more or fewer pattern repeats before knitting the heel and toe.
(Photos show socks knitted in size S on size EU38 feet.)
The pattern is suitable for bold beginners upwards.
Pretzel socks are knit in the round from the top down either using 9 inch circulars, double pointed needles or the magic loop method - whichever you prefer. They feature a simple repeated cable pattern and a heel flap and gusset heel construction.

Notions: 2.25mm cable needle or spare double pointed needle, scissors 3x stitch markers, tapestry needle, tape measure
