Pride and Joybots Cowl
Beep. Whir. Clank. The robots are coming! But don’t worry - these robots are colourful and friendly, and they are here to help keep your neck toasty and warm.
I fell in love with this vintage variegated Caron Dazzle Aire yarn when I saw it at the thrift store. I just knew it had to be turned into something fabulous. I’ve had little robots twirling and wheeling around in my brain for some time as a potential theme. This yarn was what it took to turn those thoughts into reality.
The robot motifs can be combined in any order that you like, so long as the total number of cast on stitches are even. If you do adjust the total motifs around the circumference, you may need to switch to a different ribbing to match up with your stitch count. I put a stitch between each motif to separate them and that is included in the motifs (charted and written), but if your number of cast on stitches needs more stitches to come out even, you should add in more stitches between motifs to ensure even numbers around the circumference.
I called this Pride and Joybots for the pretty rainbow colours of the yarn and in honour of my 2SLGBTQIA+ friends, coworkers, and family. Please enjoy your Pride and Joybots in whatever order you choose to knit them, and know that whatever type of “robot” you are, you are loved.
Please note - there are FOUR files for this pattern. One is the total pattern information for Cowl 1 and Cowl 2 (does not contain the motif instructions), two are the charted motifs for Cowl 1 and Cowl 1, and the last is the written motif instructions for both Cowl 1 and Cowl 2. Make sure to download all relevant files for your knitting style.
If you’d like to contribute to this or future patterns, you can make a small donation via Paypal to: Paypal.me/Viktionary . Your donations go to keeping the robotics well oiled and their outer shells squeaky clean. And also to buy yarn for future designs. Regardless of whether you donate or not, thank you for your kind words and support.
