Primavera Handkerchief
The body of this handkerchief is based on a lace pattern called “Border Pattern for a Quilt” from The Ladies’ Knitting and Netting Book, published in 1838. The edging also comes from this book.
Finished Size 11½“ square.
Yarn Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock Yarn (75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon; 437 yd 400 m/3½ oz 100 g): #5658 herb, 1 skein.
Needles Size 2 (2.75 mm): straights and 16” circular (cir) needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Tapestry needle.
Gauge 30 sts and 53 rows = 4” in Quilt lace.
