PATTERN NOTES
The blanket is cast on and worked in basketweave pattern, before waste yarn stitches are used to mark the position for an afterthought pocket. The blanket body is then completed in basketweave pattern. Next, stitches are picked up around the remaining three blanket edges, before being cast off with the i-cord method. Finally, the pocket stitches are picked up from the edges of the waste yarn stitches. The pocket edge is worked with an i-cord cast off, and a pocket lining is knitted down from the remaining stitches, before being sewn into place.
