Primrose Angora Jumper
THE fine spun angora wool makes a very soft, lightweight, but quite warm jumper, which is so much more important-looking than one in ordinary wool. Very little wool is required for this jumper, and this makes it a quite inexpensive angora garment. The bars of contrasting colour are worked after the knitting is finished. Other colour schemes can be chosen to tone with suits or skirts.
MATERIALS.━ Angora wool, 4 oz. primrose, 1 oz. contrasting colour; 2 long steel knitting needles, and 5 short needles, suitable size to weight of wool.
MEASUREMENTS. ━ Front━Shoulder to lower edge, 22 in.; depth of neck opening, 3¼ in.; depth of armhole, from shoulder to side seam, 8¼ in.; width below arms, 19 in.; hips, 16½ in. Back━Length, 21¼ in.; depth of armhole, 7½ in.; upper width, 17½ in.; hips, 15 in. Sleeves━Length along outer side, 8¾ in.; width at armhole, 12¾ in,; width at cuff, 11 in.
CUT OF JUMPER.━In order to ensure a good fit for the jumper, it is advisable to work it according to a well-cut pattern. Such a pattern can be easily made out of paper by following the accompanying diagram, which gives the above measurements, intended for a medium-size bust. The indications as to number of stitches and rows which follow are figured out on the same basis. To make the jumper larger or smaller, simply work with more or fewer stitches and rows.
TENSION.━(?) stitches and 4 rows to ¾ in.
