Princess Doll Recipe
This is a recipe for making small dolls, specifically princess dolls. The finished dolls are about 9 inches tall.
It is very easy to customize this to make any doll you like, perhaps one that looks like the child you are making it for! Less than 30 grams of yarn are needed for each colour. The doll pictured used 12 gm black yarn, 8 gm skin tone, 7 gm light blue, 15 gm navy, 14 gm purple and 12 gm chestnut. All yarns were worsted weight. You also need a small amount of stuffing, and some thread to embroider the face. They are ideal scrap busters! You also need a small amount of stuffing and some embroidery thread for the facial features.
The clothes are attached to the doll, either knitted as part of the doll or sewn on once they are knit. That means there are no loose parts to get lost or fall off during play. This doll wears an A line skirt, vest over a blouse, long boots and a warm cape.
Modifications for the other dolls will be recorded as I remake them. At present only 2 of the dolls are written on my blog but my project page has others pictured if you want to jump in and start them!
This is the first pattern I have recorded for others to use, so I hope you are able to follow along. I will improve with time I am sure, and when corrections are needed I will surely edit the pattern accordingly.
I hope you enjoy creating some for your own little people!
