Princess/Mermaid Doll
The Princess/Mermaid Sophie Doll
This is a good advanced beginner pattern. I include A LOT of tips and tricks for those new to amigurumi and can be helpful for those who already love it! I include many photos for each step of the process. Written using U.S Crochet terms.
The Princess Sophie Doll is about 15 inches tall and 3 inches wide (not including the arms and hair.) For Sophie, I recommend using size 4 worsted weight yarn in whatever color you prefer. This particular one used is Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek in Ivory. The hair is I Love this Yarn in Brown and the dress is Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek in Yellow. All of the clothing is removable. The roses are hand sewn and can be found at most craft stores. Buttons, bead, and other crochet appliques would be great here, too! The beauty of the doll is that you are able to customize her in any way you would like! Enjoy making her!
Why choose if you want a princess or a mermaid doll?? Why not have BOTH?! This crochet mermaid edition to the Princess Sophie doll allows you the best of both worlds! Because Sophie’s clothes are all removable, the bikini top and mermaid tail can be added for more “under the sea” play and then the dress, shoes and crown can go back on for adventures on dry land! (Or leave the crown on for a mermaid princess!)
The pattern is a PDF and you will need Adobe Reader to open it. This program is free to download. Feel free to contact me if you need any help!
