Prionosuchus
Dive into the wild and wacky world of the Permian Period with this one of a kind crochet pattern! Prionosuchus (Pree-AW-noh-SOO-kiss) was the largest amphibian to ever live, and it was as deadly as a crocodile!
This pattern is very low-sew! The legs are the only parts that need to be sewn on. The tail fin is surface crochet, and the axolotl gills are crocheted in the round! You will also use fair isle color changing technique to make the belly of this creature. You will definitely want some stem wire on hand to make the legs poseable, as well as some 15 mm safety eyes. Cat eye pupils look great for this project!
As an added bonus, the last page of the full-color version of the pattern features a biography on Prionosuchus so you can learn more about the unique prehistoric creature you’ve just brought back to life! There is also a printer-friendly version of the pattern for those who love the feeling of a physical copy in their hands.
Prionosuchus will make an unforgettable gift for that dinosaur/paleontology lover in your life, a unique plush toy for children and adults alike, or simply a great conversation-starting piece to keep in your home! No matter what you do with yours, I’m certain you will absolutely love this project.
This pattern has been tested by a panel of experienced crocheters to ensure quality! It is written in English using American English terminology
