Progressive Skills Sampler
I’ve wanted to make something like this for a while. A pattern that would help a beginner knitter to not only learn the basics, but keep them interested without frightening the be’jeebus out of them straight off by saying “Here’s the pattern for a sweater – have fun!”.
The beauty of this little pattern is that it can be easily modified to make a kindle or i-pad cover, a baby blanket, a cushion cover or a full on afghan without having to take a class in knitting design. If you would like a hand with this, give me a shout :)
The other great thing is that it’s something that you’ll always have around, so that when you read “Continue in moss stich for 60 rows” you have something in your hands that shows you exactly what moss stitch looks and feels like.
There is also the option to just keep knitting in a stitch pattern you want to practice a bit more before you move on. This is possibly the most flexible pattern ever, although if you decide to modify it the yardage requirements are going to change :)
