Prost!
Prost! was inspired by the Sloane Kraus Mysteries by Ellie Alexander. I had always been charmedby the cover art and titles of books in the cozy mystery genre, but hadn’t found a series I enjoyed until this one. While reading this series, I would get to the end of one book and think, “I’ll take a break after this one and read something else,” and then get so invested into what was surely
coming in the next novel that, well, I couldn’t put them down. Do you ever make friends with fictional characters? I did with these characters. Since then, I’ve found others I’ve enjoyed, but Sloane will always remain my favorite in the genre. This hat is my ode to this discovery.
This hat is part of our quarterly feature, Yarn Story at Wren & Purl.
Notes: This hat is written in one medium- largish adult size (If it fits me, it’ll fit almost anyone;-). To create a smaller or larger version, consider eliminating one system of the color work (144 sts for main body), or adding one system (176 its for main body). Cast on for brim would be 12 fewer than main body for either option.
Yardage requirements will vary, and because this pattern is part of a kit, I was generous with proportions. You may need less than listed amounts, but better too much than not enough.
