This pattern has been especially created to use two pretty skeins of Candywool (100% merinos), based on a duo neutral + variegated colors. Candywool calls the variegated yarn a “holy”. This is an unique and not reproducible multicolor thread created in the dyer cauldron at random.

Psittakos is a very long and large shawl, with an assymetrical triangle shape. With a vigorous stretching, its length can reach more than 2m10, and 70 cm of width at least.

It is worked in 3 steps. First, you create a tip. The second distorts the shawl to give the final triangle shape with a lot of short rows. And the third one consists in picking up stiches on the other side of the triangle, after the last row, to make a lacy edge.

The last section of part 2 contains 3 options in case you are a yarn-eater and you have less yardage CP left than you should.

Each technique used in this pattern has a video link. Those videos are in French, but easily understandable just by watching.

Material :

• 2 skeins of fingering 100% mérinos Candywool, 400m/100g. The original model has been made with a neutral CC, Lait d’amande color (almond milk) and a Holy CP, kiwi fraise color (kiwi strawberry)

Or two skeins of fingering 400m/100g (375 m CP, 350 for CC for my version).

• 3.75mm needles (if you hesitate between 3,5 and 4, I advise you t choose 3,5mm).

The gauge is not important for this shawl. I advise you to obtain a supple and extensible garter stitch.

Ce modèle a été spécialement conçu et créé pour utiliser deux beaux écheveaux 100% mérinos de Candywool, sur un duo de base neutre + holy. Un holy est un écheveau multicolore unique et non reproductible, créé au hasard du chaudron de la teinturière.

Psittakos est un châle très long, triangulaire et asymétrique. Avec un blocage énergique, vous atteindrez facilement les 2m10 pour 70 cm de profondeur au point le plus large.

Il se travaille en 3 temps. La première où l’on crée une pointe, la seconde qui déforme le châle pour lui donner sa forme triangulaire finale grâce à plusieurs sections de rangs raccourcis, et la troisième qui consiste à relever des mailles à la suite du rang de base pour inclure une bordure de dentelle sur tout l’angle du châle.

La dernière section de la partie 2 contient 3 optionspour pouvoir finir le châle même si vous venez à manquer de métrage (dans le cas où vous seriez une mangeuse de fil) et qu’il vous resterait moins qu’initialement prévu par le patron.

Matériel :

• 2 écheveaux de fingering 100% mérinos Candywool, 400m au 100g. Le modèle original a été fait avec un neutre, coloris Lait d’amande (CC) et un Holy, coloris Kiwi Fraise (CP).

Ou deux écheveaux de 400 m au 100g (375 m de CP, 350 de CC pour ma version)

- Une paire d’aiguilles 3.75mm (si vous hésitez en 3,5 et 4, choisissez plutôt 3,5mm).

L’échantillon n’est pas primordial pour ce châle. Je vous recommande d’avoir un point mousse souple et extensible.
