PSL Season Cup Cozy
Happy Fall Y’all!!
I am so excited that autumn is finally here!! I’ve been needing a cup cozy for my morning coffee walks because the cup I use is a little too hot to hold at first, so I whipped up this little design in an afternoon. Needless to say, I. am. obsessed.
The pattern is super simple so I’ve written it in chart form to keep it all on one page. It hasn’t been tested as I just kind of sat down and put it together, so feedback is welcome and appreciated!
This is a rather large cup cozy, so if you are one of those “tall” latte people, you may want to cut out the checkerboard portions of the design and work fewer ribbing rows to decrease the width. Me? I always get venti, so the bigger the better. ;) Gauge isn’t super important, but do keep an eye on it just to make sure it fits your cup when you’re done.
It’s knit in the round from the bottom up using a set of 5mm (size 8) double-pointed needles. You could also use the magic loop method, if that’s more your style! The colorwork is fairly simple, with a max of 3 colors being used at one time. It’s a small project, so if you aren’t super comfortable with fair-isle in the round yet, this is a good one to practice on!
I used Premier Yarns Stitch Please 100% Wool Chunky in the colorway “Salted Caramel” for the main color and “Espresso Yourself” and “Rust in the Wind” for the pumpkin and checkerboard details. I really like this yarn! It’s technically rated as bulky-weight, but it’s a little on the lighter side so I recommend worsted weight as a substitute.
Feel free to make these bad boys for yourself, as a lovely gift for a fellow autumn-obsessed individual, or you are welcome to sell them! I can see these going fast at local markets during the cooler months. :slightly_smiling_face:
If you do decide to do me the honor of knitting up my design, please make sure to tag me on Instagram using @thechesapeakeneedle so I can see your work! You can also use the hashtag #PSLSeasonCupCozy if hashtags are your thing.
Thank you for taking the time to browse, and for all your lovely support over the years. It means more than you know! I do ask that if you want to share this pattern with your friends, send them a link to the pattern page here on Ravelry so they can download it for themselves. Thanks again!
